Have you heard that the South Australian Government is offering international students a $500 payment? It’s a one-off cash payment to help you through the COVID-19 pandemic. You can read more about this on the Study Adelaide website. You will need to apply for the payment, though, so make sure you register – the link is on the Study Adelaide website.

The support you need

TAFE SA provides you with a range of free support services both before and after you arrive in South Australia. Once you have enrolled in your course, we offer information on airport pickups, accommodation and orientation.  

Once you have arrived in Adelaide you will receive a comprehensive Orientation by the International office, as well as English Language support and counselling if you need it.

    Some international students may require legal assistance and advice whilst studying in Australia.  The Legal Services Commission has an excellent website which provides details on the sorts of issues a student may face: visa and immigration, accommodation and renting, employment, accidents and injuries, criminal matters, financial issues, traffic offences, and many more.  In the first instance, you may wish to contact the International Student Support Consultant at the International Unit, or the Student Services on your campus, who may then refer you to another service for more specific information and assistance.
