TAFE South Australia's orientation program

During TAFE SA's orientation program you will have the opportunity to meet other international students as well as receive important information that you need to know as an international student. The orientation program not only provides you with important information, it is also takes you through parts of your enrolment process, so attendance is compulsory.

Orientation covers the following areas

  • international-welcome-guidesupport services available to assist you to help you adjust to study at TAFE SA and life in Adelaide, Australia
  • personal support services available if personal or other circumstances are affecting your ability to study or be successful in your study
  • English language and study assistance programs available at TAFE SA
  • Information about accessing legal services, emergency and health services
  • TAFE SA’s facilities and resources
  • The TAFE SA complaints and appeals processes, for both academic and non-academic issues
  • requirements for satisfactory course attendance and course progress and other academic policies and procedures
  • reminder about the conditions of your student visa, and your Overseas Student Health Cover
  • services students can access for information on their employment rights and conditions, and how to resolve workplace issues, such as through the Fair Work Ombudsman.
  • Adelaide city tour and tour of the campus you will study on
  • Obtaining your TAFE SA student ID card
  • Academic counselling and enrolment information for your course of study
