Our Strategic Plan 2023-2033 is a framework for TAFE SA’s decision making and priorities over the next decade.
The Strategic Plan sets out an exciting and ambitious future for our organisation. Our vision is to contribute to a skilled and thriving South Australia where communities have access to quality education, training and support; employers have access to a highly-capable workforce; and students from all walks of life are taught the knowledge and skills they need for success. This vision is underpinned by eight strategic goals that will guide all aspects of our operations.
The consultation process that informed the development of TAFE SA’s Strategic Plan 2023–2033 ensured that diverse voices from our staff, students, communities and industry partners were heard and reflected in the plan.
TAFE SA’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) outlines our commitment to building a culturally-safe and responsive environment for all First Nations staff and students. Advancing the achievements of our first Reflect RAP, it identifies new opportunities to strengthen our relationship with First Nations communities across our state and new ways we can celebrate First Nations cultures across our campuses.
Reconciliation involves working with, rather than working for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. A comprehensive consultation process with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal TAFE SA staff, stakeholders, and Aboriginal Elders informed and enriched the development of our ‘Innovate’ RAP. We are grateful for the invaluable leadership provided by First Nations staff within our organisation throughout this process.
TAFE SA’s commitment to regional, rural and remote South Australian communities is defined in the 2023-2033 Strategic Plan.
In addition, TAFE SA’s Place Based Priority Plan that defines how TAFE SA will deliver on its Strategic Plan commitments, further demonstrates a long-term commitment and approach that is firmly place based, grounded in listening to communities and responding to what matters most in each region. This will be achieved by working collaboratively at a local level to strengthen regional capability, support economic growth and create meaningful pathways for learners now and into the future.
TAFE SA’s strategic direction guides how we will deliver training and services that are locally informed, inclusive and accessible, recognising that each region is unique and that effective education and training must be shaped by local needs, opportunities and partnerships, with TAFE SA campuses always playing a vital role in supporting local communities, industries and learners across the state.
The latest Regional Plan will be shared shortly.
TAFE SA is committed to the primary prevention of gender-based violence by addressing its underlying cause of gender inequality. Supported by Our Watch, the national leader in the primary prevention of violence against women, we developed TAFE SA’s Gender Equality Action Plan 2025 – 2027 to drive change both within our organisation and the communities we serve.
TAFE SA is committed to creating an environment for work and study that is welcoming, inclusive and considerate. Our Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) is in development, building on the substantial work undertaken through our previous TAFE SA Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2020 - 2024. The plan will be launched soon.
To address barriers to inclusion, TAFE SA has identified six Inclusion and Equity drivers, that focus our advocacy, action, and efforts. Our identified drivers are:
These drivers were developed in consultation with our community and incorporate an intersectional focus to create inclusion for all.
We acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands on which TAFE SA stands.
