In response to COVID-19 restrictions, TAFE SA’s IT program has been quick to transition to digitally enabled course delivery, ensuring learning can continue while everyone isolates safely at home.
IT lecturers and students are embracing the virtual classroom, with lectures and class discussions taking place on the Collaborate platform and course materials accessed via Learn, TAFE SA’s Learning Management System.
A new state-of-the-art Training Security Operations Centre (TSOC) has launched at TAFE SA. The facility provides hands-on simulated training for highly sought-after cyber security professionals to help stem the worldwide growth of malicious cyber activity.
TSOC is the first of its kind in the state’s VET sector, with a red ‘attack’ room and a blue ‘defence’ room, that mirrors real-life scenarios, simulations, testing opportunities and interaction with other TSOC’s across the country. It also features the latest hardware and software from a variety of industry partners including CISCO, Microsoft, Fortinet, Splunk, IBM, HP Aruba, VMWare and Palo Alto.

TAFE SA can offer you vocational education and training (VET) for Schools as part of our nationally recognised training package. Courses are available to students from Years 10 to 12 as part of the normal school curriculum.
VET study also counts towards the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE). It’s the perfect pathway into further IT study at TAFE SA, or it can prepare you for employment, an apprenticeship or traineeship.
