What’s it all about?

Ready to level up your sewing game? This skill set picks up where the Industrial Sewing Skill Set (MSTSS00015) left off and dives into the more advanced techniques, think zips, bindings, sleeves, and mastering those tricky skills to a professional level. You'll also get hands-on experience with different fabric weights, to diversify your stitching to create complete, wearable garments!

Who’s it for?
This course is calling your name if you’ve already nailed the basics! To enrol, you’ll need to have either:
• Completed the Industrial Sewing Skill Set (MSTSS00015) and don’t forget to show us your completion certificate when you enrol.
OR
• Be able to demonstrate industrial sewing skills.

Outcomes of course?
By the end, you won’t just be sewing, you’ll be constructing. After completing a portfolio of advanced samples: invisible zip, lapped zip, binding, bagging-out and bluffing curved seams.
Setting you up with the skills to confidently tackle entire garments like skirts and short sleeved top and feel right at home using advanced machinery like buttonhole makers and button sewers.

  • Minimum age 15 years
    Must have completed the MSTSS00015 Industrial Sewing Skill Set
    Oh, and one more thing—make sure you’ve filled out the Training Account Consent Form. It’s a quick upload during enrolment (you can grab it from the Files & Resources tab below).

This delivery is offered under South Australian Government funding subsidies. You might be eligible for subsidised training if you live or work in South Australia, and are: an Australian or New Zealand Citizen; a Permanent Australian Resident or an eligible Visa holder and are 16 years of age or over. For those ineligible for State Government subsidies, the full course cost of $1,625.00 will apply.
