Develop the specialised skills needed to create detailed engineering drawings and design documentation for a wide range of engineering and manufacturing applications.
This course is designed for people seeking a career in engineering design, drafting and technical support roles. You'll gain industry-relevant skills in computer-aided design (CAD), 3D modelling, technical drawing and engineering documentation, preparing you to contribute to engineering projects across a range of industries. Through practical learning, you'll develop the ability to interpret technical information, apply mathematical principles, and produce accurate engineering drawings and models that support the manufacture, construction and maintenance of equipment, structures and systems. You'll also build skills in organising and communicating technical information and working within professional engineering environments.     This qualification defines the skills and knowledge required of a detail draftsperson producing specialist engineering drawings within metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries. The skills gained in this qualification can be applied across manufacturing, defence, infrastructure, construction, mechanical services, fabrication, energy and other engineering-related sectors. To complete the qualification, you are required to complete all 4 core units and 11 elective units.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
