Description
Registration for Firearm Safety Training Category H. This is not for Club Use (please contact a club of your choice to discuss your needs with them).
To be eligible to enrol in this course you must first apply and be approved for a Firearm Licence with the South Australia Police (SAPOL). This is a legal requirement of SAPOL.
You are required to provide your SAPOL Approval Letter at the time of enrolment. Your training must be completed within 6 months of the issue date on your letter.
The Firearm Safety Course is divided into four main sections which cover the following topics:
- What is a firearm?
- Firearms and the law
- Safety with firearms
- Using firearms responsibly
- Hunting and animal destruction
- Hunting laws and legal obligations
- Range rules
The above training includes approximately 3 hours of online training, 2 hours of in-class theory training and assessments and 1 hour of practical assessments.
The Workbook will be available through our online learning system where you will also need to complete compulsory exercises prior to the course date. The online learning will take approximately 2-3 hours to complete and must be completed prior to your practical training day. Further information will be sent to you upon registration.
