Description

This course equips students with skills in working safely and effectively in the fabrication, welding and engineering industry, using hand tools, manual handling and performing routine gas tungsten arc welding and gas metal arc welding.

This skill set will enhance the entry-level employment prospects for apprenticeships, traineeships or general employment in an engineering-related workplace.

  • Completion of the Training Account Consent Form - you are required to upload a completed form at the time of enrolment. You can download a copy of the form under the Files & Resources tab below.

    This course is fee free via a joint initiative of the Australian and South Australian Governments and you must meet criteria to be eligible for a fee free place.
  • Undertake manual handling (MEM11011)

    Work safely and effectively in manufacturing and engineering (MEM13015)

    Organise and communicate information (MEM16006)

    Use hand tools (MEM18001)

    Use power tools/hand held operations (MEM18002)

    Perform routine gas tungsten arc welding (MEM05049)

    Perform routine gas metal arc welding (MEM05050)

Short Course Delivery Locations Some short courses can provide accreditation for industry-specific registration, while others merely provide skills and knowledge in the subject area. Concession prices are available for some courses.
