Description

Gain the essential knowledge and skills required to provide caring, compassionate and effective nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This course focuses on integrating theory with practice, giving you the skills to problem solve and work in a collaborative team environment. This course also provides a pathway to university, following successful completion of the Diploma. NB Delivery at Adelaide City campus is subject to the routine approval process from ANMAC.

    • You will receive credit for TAFE SA studies allowing you to complete two awards dependent on the pathway selected.
    • If accepted, you will receive an offer to TAFE SA and-on successful completion of the TAFE SA qualification-an offer to University with no further application required.

    • Successful applicants are required to attend a 3 day orientation workshop the week before classes begin.
    • Reading, writing and numeracy skills are assessed using the Core Skills Profile for Adults (CSPA). This assessment is used to determine whether you will be required to undertake additional support units alongside your qualification or undertake a pathway course before commencing your chosen qualification. If you receive an offer, more information will be provided at your enrolment session.

    Diploma of Nursing/Bachelor of Nursing (Pre-registration) - Flinders Uni Pathway
    Knowledge and skills will be developed in areas including communication, cultural diversity, law and ethics, anatomy and physiology, acute and chronic health disorders, clinical nursing skills and medication management.
    To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 20 core units and 5 elective units.
    NOTE:

    • 400 hours of Professional Experience Placement will be required.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
