Employment Outcomes
This course addresses the gap between overseas electrical trades practices, regulations and codes and those applied in Australia
The knowledge and skills of many overseas qualified electrical workers may be very high, but there are differences in the application of this technical expertise, differences that represent a “gap”. Australian Electrical Regulators require that the gap be addressed in regulated trade vocations such as electrical, where the work context may differ markedly in overseas countries to that of Australia and such differences could endanger lives, infrastructure or systems.
This nationally accredited course provides the Minimum Australian Context Gap training to holders of an Offshore Technical Skills Record (OTSR) or Technical Skills Assessment Record (TSAR) for the UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician qualification.
This course enables electricians to attain the necessary requirements to apply for an unrestricted Electrician’s Licence from Consumer and Business Services (CBS) in South Australia.
On-job Workplace Evidence
Australian regulators require evidence that broad experience has been gained on-the-job and require this evidence to be formally gathered and documented. The industry endorsed method of gathering this evidence is the Exemplar Profiling system.
Once accepted into the course TAFE SA will provide further information to support you to register yourself and your employer (if they don’t already have an account) on the Exemplar Profiling system. However, if you wish to commence this process earlier please contact Exemplar Profiling on 02 6100 2147, info@exemplarsystems.com.au or chat accessed via: https://profiling.exemplarsystems.com.au/auth/login to register or for more information.
Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.
