Build a career in the entertainment, arts and events industry with a TAFE SA technical production course. Our courses cover stage management, audio, lighting, staging and vision, set props and scenic art. You’ll collaborate with performing artists on acting and dance shows and work on live music performances. Work placements provide practical experience in theatre production and networking with potential employers.
Technical production crew work behind the scenes to make sure the show goes on.
When you study technical production and design at TAFE SA, you get to work with contemporary equipment in purpose-built training spaces. These include a lighting studio, design studios, workshops for set construction, props manufacture and scenic art, and costume manufacture workrooms.
A suite of interconnected production offices is designed to replicate typical professional production department organisation and to promote working relationships between student stage managers, technicians and their supervising lecturers.
We also have two theatres – an end-stage/proscenium theatre and black-box theatre – with service facilities including a green room, wardrobe maintenance room and a control room large enough to accommodate classes. Technical resources are regularly upgraded in line with changes to industry technology and trends.
Established exclusively for Year 12 students, the Certificate III in Live Production and Services (CUA30415) offers the opportunity for hands-on training and experience in lighting, sound, staging and vision.
