Advanced Animal Care 1

Description

This course assists students in developing the skills and knowledge required to identify behaviours and interact safely with animals, undertake basic animal first aid and promote positive wellbeing in animal care workplaces. Students will work with multiple animal species.

  • Pre-requisites
    Year 12

    Certificate II in Animal Care is a preferred pre-requisite for this course.

  • Accredited Units

    Communicate effectively with clients and team members (ACMGEN315)

    Contribute to workplace health and safety processes (ACMWHS201)

    Identify behaviours and interact safely with animals (ACMBEH301)

  • Additional Information
    TAFE SA will provide all PPE required. Animal handling and husbandry routines are included in this skill cluster; therefore, TAFE SA must be informed of animal phobias and/or allergies prior to the commencement of the course.

    Attracts 20 Stage 2 SACE Credits.

VET Short Course Delivery Locations Some VET short courses can provide accreditation for industry-specific registration, while others merely provide skills and knowledge in the subject area. Concession prices are available for some courses.
