SHORT COURSE

Practical CPR for Veterinary Personnel

Description

Based on the Reassessment Campaign on Veterinary Resuscitation (RECOVER) guidelines, this hands-on training will provide veterinary nurses with the opportunity to learn about and practice Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), preparing you for real-life situations. You will practice on mannequins, with a view to transfer the knowledge gained into practice.

The course will cover chest compression techniques for small animals, best practice manual ventilation techniques, appropriate set up of emergency treatment spaces, and more.

Each annual cycle, all veterinary nurses and veterinary technicians registered under the Australian Veterinary Nurse and Technician (AVNAT) Registration Scheme are required to accrue 20 points of eligible Continuing Professional Development (CPD). The AVNAT Regulatory Council has allocated 2 AVNAT CPD points to this continuing education activity.
