Flammable Refrigerants


This course provides supplementary units of competency for those with the licensed occupation of Air-conditioning and Refrigeration.
The short course provides the skills and knowledge required to handle natural refrigerants which are being used in industry to mitigate the environmental risk of synthetic refrigerants

The course provides competencies to apply safety awareness and legislative requirements flammable refrigerants. In addition to service and repair, recover, pressure test, evacuate and charge refrigerants from self-contained air conditioning and refrigeration systems using Class A2, A2L and A3 flammable refrigerants.

  • Each learner is required to possess an “in-training” Refrigerant handling licence as governed by the Australian Refrigeration Council. This licence is an integral requirement to undertake training in this qualification.

    Learners will also be required to possess a restricted electrical licence which can be obtained from Consumer and Business Services
  • Apply safety awareness and legal requirements for flammable refrigerants (UEERA0007)

    Service and repair self-contained flammable refrigerants air conditioning and refrigeration systems (UEERA0084)

    Recover and charge refrigerants (UEERA0062)

Short Course Delivery Locations Some short courses can provide accreditation for industry-specific registration, while others merely provide skills and knowledge in the subject area. Concession prices are available for some courses.
