Artificially Inseminate Livestock (specialising in Cattle)

Description

Four day A.I. course consisting of a blend of theory and practical each day. Students will learn heat detection, correct handling of frozen semen, loading of guns, and correct insemination techniques.

Co-hosted by A.I. technician Matt Aikenhead who has taught in China and upskills by attending technician courses in the USA.

This course is conveniently held twice yearly on local farms before spring and autumn mating cycles.

Please bring a packed lunch and wear appropriate clothing for working closely with cattle.

  • Assist with artificial insemination procedures (AHCAIS201)

    Artificially inseminate livestock (AHCAIS303)

    Coordinate artificial insemination and fertility management of livestock (AHCLSK312)

Short Course Delivery Locations Some short courses can provide accreditation for industry-specific registration, while others merely provide skills and knowledge in the subject area. Concession prices are available for some courses.

Cost Eligibility

This delivery is offered under State Government funding subsidies. Eligible students must be an Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident, be 16 years of age or over and reside in an eligible regional location.
