Pest Management Technician endorsed for Control of Vertebrate Pest


This course provides the necessary accreditation for persons wanting to be endorsed in the control of vertebrate pests. The course will cover a range of topics including an overview of vertebrate pests in Australia, animal biology and behaviour, trapping and control techniques, safe handling, legislation, signage, and much more.

Assessment will include a short practical assessment onsite and a written assignment to be submitted within 6 weeks of completion of workshop.

  • All participants must hold a current TAFE SA Chemical Card, or equivalent, to undertake this course and have completed an exam. This includes completion of:
    - Prepare and Apply Chemicals (AHCCHM303)
    - Transport, Handle and Store Chemicals (AHCCHM304)
    Evidence of completion will be required
  • Recognise fauna (AHCFAU201)

    Determine pest control techniques (AHCPMG306)

    Apply animal trapping techniques (AHCPMG307)

    Survey pests (AHCPMG305)

Short Course Delivery Locations Some short courses can provide accreditation for industry-specific registration, while others merely provide skills and knowledge in the subject area. Concession prices are available for some courses.
