The term Marte Meo derives from Latin, meaning ‘on one’s own strength’. The programme has application in a wide range of sectors including disability, foster care, aged care, neonatal care, early childhood and school sector.
Marte Meo is a video-based framework that provides professionals with a practical approach to building relationships, quality interactions and reflective practice and wellbeing.
In her presentation, Maria will play short film clips and, through video analysis, will highlight how to make the most of everyday interaction moments to strengthen positive relationships, lead respectfully and build cooperation skills.
Colette will give an overview of Marte Meo work conducted in Ireland in foster care, nursing, schools, and early childhood education sectors. Colette will use Marte Meo to identify early signals of attachment issues and using film will show how Marte Meo underpins the attachment cycle.
