Gain the practical skills needed to confidently process payroll and prepare Business Activity Statements using Xero. This course covers how to record payroll transactions, prepare payroll documentation, respond to payroll enquiries, and maintain accurate data across both manual and computerised systems.
In addition, this course provides you with the skills and knowledge required to identify and apply Australian Tax Office (ATO) compliance requirements to effectively process and complete Business Activity Statements (BAS), instalment activity statements (IAS) and other required reports.
Whether you're supporting a business, working in finance, or managing payroll responsibilities, this course helps you build strong, compliant payroll and BAS lodgement skills.
This Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) approved course meets the education requirements set out by the TPB for those requiring board approved courses for BAS Agent registration and renewal.

To undertake this course you must meet the following pre-requisites (evidence must be attached with your registration):
- Relevant work experience in bookkeeping services using Xero or successful completion of the following units:
. Process business tax requirements (FNSACC411) +
. Conduct Business Activities using Xero (FNSACC314) OR
. Set up and Operate Computerised Accounting Systems (FNSACC426)
If you do not meet the pre-requisites listed above, you can complete the required units through the following TAFE short courses:

- Bookkeeping Essentials for Small Business Owners, Job Seekers & Migrants (Part 1)

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Fully online and self-paced
- 8 weeks in duration
- If you study 10-12 hours per week, we estimate that you will be able to complete the course in the 8-week timeframe

- The course has either written or oral supervised assessments. You will require access to video chat for assessment purposes
