SSDIS01008 - Introduction to Construction Industry - Carpentry


If you want to reskill, are looking to work in the construction industry or are a young person, particularly school leaver these skill sets will introduce you to training that develops your employability skills and enables you to find out more about the industry before embarking on further education or employment. They provide pathways into employment, as well as further VET training.

This program will cover mainly the carpentry trade and building from residential to commercial aspects.

  • Work safely at heights (CPCCCM2012)

    Prepare to work safely in the construction Industry (CPCCWHS1001)

    Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry (CPCCWHS2001)

    Use construction tools and equipment (CPCCCM2005)

    Work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry (CPCCOM1012)

    Undertake a basic construction project (CPCCVE1011)

  • For safety reasons, you are required to wear safety boots, safety glasses, and appropriate workwear.

Short Course Delivery Locations Some short courses can provide accreditation for industry-specific registration, while others merely provide skills and knowledge in the subject area. Concession prices are available for some courses.
