Description
Are you an aspiring apiarist or looking for ways to contribute to helping bee populations and the environment? Learn how to introduce and maintain hives, harvest honey and hive products, restore agricultural systems and meet legislative requirements for keeping bees.
This course will involve both on campus theory work and practical work at an offsite location, approximately 30 minutes’ drive from the TAFE SA campus. The offsite location will be dependent upon seasonal conditions and will be confirmed by the lecturer.
The practical component on Sunday will be held at a local hive site. If you have a hive location that may be suitable please contact Program Support contact details.
All equipment, including beekeeping suits and gloves, will be provided on the day.
Bring your own lunch as we will have a quick lunch break in the middle of the day. Kitchen facilities will be available at the Urrbrae campus.
