Pest Management Technician - Viticulture

Description

This course will develop a student’s knowledge and understanding required to recognise, identify and monitor a variety of vine disorders and damage, and recommend and implement preventive or corrective action. Students will then be equipped with the training and skills to apply appropriate insecticides and fungicides for the control of plant pests and diseases in a viticulture setting.

This is important to ensure students have access to appropriate workplace setting and are aware of the resources and equipment they will be required to provide themselves and at their own cost prior to undertaking this course. Once registered additional support via phone or email will be available to support students studying externally.

Students must have access and provide their own appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Upon completion, students may be eligible to apply for a Pest Control License. Further information regarding licensing can be found through the Services SA “Work and Business Licences” site : SA.GOV.AU - Pest control licence (www.sa.gov.au)

  • All students must hold a valid Chemical Card at the time of enrolment and are required to provide evidence of this.

    Transport and store chemicals (AHCCHM304)
    Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds, and diseases (AHCCHM307)

Short Course Delivery Locations Some short courses can provide accreditation for industry-specific registration, while others merely provide skills and knowledge in the subject area. Concession prices are available for some courses.
