Introduction to Health-Related Services


Health-related courses and professions are not only rewarding, they are becoming increasingly important in today's society. This introductory short course will help you to start your professional journey within the health industry.

This course will equip you with the basic skills and knowledge to assist in starting your career in a range of health-related professions including: dental assistant, phlebotomist, community health worker and more.

Topics covered include:
- Communicating effectively with clients, colleagues, management and other industry providers
- Following infection prevention and control procedures
- Responding to infection risks
- Participating in safe work practices to ensure your own health and safety, and that of others

Please wear long pants and closed-in shoes.

  • Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures (HLTINF001)

    Work with diverse people (CHCDIV001)

    Participate in workplace health and safety (HLTWHS001)

Short Course Delivery Locations Some short courses can provide accreditation for industry-specific registration, while others merely provide skills and knowledge in the subject area. Concession prices are available for some courses.
