Manage Budgets and Forecasts

Description

This continuing professional development course provides you with a skills and knowledge required to prepare and manage a range of business budgets and variance analysis using Microsoft Excel applications.

This course may satisfy the continuing professional development requirements for bookkeepers, BAS agents, accountants, Tax agents and employees working in the business service sector.

This course will also be of benefit to business owners, managers, business partners, bookkeepers, assistant accountants and accounts clerks.

Skills Covered:
- Fundamentals of budgeting
- Preparation of revenue, expense, cash and financial statement budgets
- Preparation of a master budget
- Preparation and analysis of performance reports

This course requires students to purchase textbooks at an additional cost of approximately $80. More information will be provided following enrolment.

This course has either written or oral supervised assessment. Students will require access to Skype video chat for assessment purposes.

  • Relevant work experience in an accounting field or the completion of the following two units of competency:
    - Process financial transactions and extract interim reports (FNSACC311)
    - Prepare financial reports (BSBFIA401A)

    The above units of competency are available via the following TAFE SA short courses:
    - Process Financial Transactions and Administer Accounts
    - Prepare Financial Reports
    Note: Process Financial Transactions and Administer Accounts must be completed prior to starting Prepare Financial Reports
  • You will be given 12 weeks to complete this course. If you study 4-6 hours per week, we estimate that you will be able to complete the course in this time frame. However as this online course is self-paced, if you prefer you are able to complete it in a shorter time frame. This course has either written or oral supervised assessment. Students will require access to Skype video chat for assessment purposes.

Short Course Delivery Locations Some short courses can provide accreditation for industry-specific registration, while others merely provide skills and knowledge in the subject area. Concession prices are available for some courses.
