WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT? This course provides you with the skills and knowledge required to record and prepare payroll documentation, respond to enquiries and process accurate payroll data for manual and computerised systems. You will learn the following skills: - Payroll systems and legislation - Superannuation obligations - Payment summaries and payroll calculations - Manual payroll and accounting for salaries and wages - Setting up the Xero payroll command centre - Processing personal leave - Holiday pay and leave loading - Payroll tax - Process payroll liabilities - End of year procedures and reconciling payroll - Salary sacrifice - Timesheets - Calculating termination payments WHO'S IT FOR? This Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) approved course meets the education requirements set out by the TPB for those requiring board approved courses for BAS Agent registration and renewal. To undertake this course, you must meet the following pre-requisites (evidence must be attached with your registration): . Relevant work experience in bookkeeping services using Xero or successful completion of the following units: - Process business tax requirements (FNSACC411) + - Conduct Business Activities using Xero (FNSACC314) OR - Set up and Operate Computerised Accounting Systems (FNSACC426) If you do not meet the pre-requisites listed above, you can complete the required units through the following TAFE short courses: - Business Tax Calculations + - Xero Introduction OR - Bookkeeping Essential for Small Business Owners, Job Seekers & Migrants (Part 1) If you have prior qualifications in GST/BAS taxation principles, you may not need to complete this course. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW - Fully online and self-paced - 8 weeks in duration - If you study 10-12 hours per week, we estimate that you will be able to complete the course in the 8-week time frame - You will require access to Microsoft Windows to complete this course - The course has practical, written and/or oral supervised assessments. You will require access to video chat for assessment purposes. - You may be required to purchase a textbook at an additional cost of approximately $89.00.
