If you are applying from onshore, generally, you will need to apply for an international course to TAFE South Australia at least two months before you want to start your studies in Australia. If you are applying from offshore it is highly recommended that you apply at least four months in advance.

Employment Outcomes

Work as a technical officer in the rapidly-growing electronics industry and related areas like defence, mining, biomedical and communications. You may be working alongside engineers to design and prototype advanced technology, or customising computer controlled video equipment in a television studio. Graduates often choose to further their career by completing a University degree.

Associate Degree in Electronic Engineering (CRS1400029)
This is a Higher Education qualification which leads to employment and/or fast-track into further study at university. Students benefit from small-classes, work-integrated learning with an emphasis on practical and employability skills. The course offers work placement and industry-based final year projects. It develops skills to analyse, design and integrate hardware and software in complex electronics systems. Learn how to construct, test and design advanced analog and digital electronic circuits. Design circuits to interface with sensors, motors,etc and write programs to control them. Study mathematics and physics and apply to electronics. Develop skills in communication, creative problem solving and working in teams. Learning will be enhanced by combining lectures with practical laboratory and workshop sessions, including simulation tools.

Packaged University Offer

This course is available as a Packaged University Offer. The University program(s) for this course: Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Electrical and Electronic) at the University of Adelaide or Bachelor of Engineering Honours Electrical and Mechatronic or Bachelor of Engineering Honours Electrical and Electronic at the University of South Australia or Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) (Honours), Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics) (Honours), Bachelor of Engineering (Robotics) (Honours) at Flinders University.

This allows students to accept a joint packaged offer with a local South Australian University, and upon successful completion of TAFE SA qualification, the student is eligible for a guaranteed entry into a nominated University Program. Find out more about Packaged University Offers.

The benefits of a Packaged University Offer include:

  • Students will be able to apply for a single visa for the entire duration of both programs
  • Guaranteed entry into selected University Programs

Credit Transfer

You will only receive a joint offer for TAFE SA and University if you apply for a Packaged University Program. If the University course that you have selected is not part of a Packaged University Offers, you will need to apply separately to the University for your selected degree program.

Studying at TAFE SA is one of the easiest pathways towards a University Degree. Credit Transfer is the formal recognition that parts of a TAFE SA course are equivalent in content and level to parts of some University courses.
