    Course Admission Requirements (for International Applications)

    • Academic IELTS 6.0 overall with minimum of 6.0 in listening and speaking, and 5.5 in reading and writing or equivalent
    • Satisfactory completion of Year 11 or overseas equivalent.

    Work Placement Duration:  336 hours

    This placement is unpaid. In the 1st semester of study, the placement will be 2 weeks full time then 1 day per week for 10 weeks. In the 2nd semester of study, the placement will be 2 weeks full time then 1 day per week for 15 weeks.

    Qualifications & Skills Covered

    Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (ACM40412)
    This qualification provides skills in feeding and watering animals, infection control, reception duties, daily clinic routines, surgery preparation, admission and discharge, imaging, pathology, medical nursing and workplace safety. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 19 core units and 4 elective units.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full Qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.

    Credit Transfer

    You will only receive a joint offer for TAFE SA and University if you apply for a Packaged University Program. If the University course that you have selected is not part of a Packaged University Offers, you will need to apply separately to the University for your selected degree program.

    Studying at TAFE SA is one of the easiest pathways towards a University Degree. Credit Transfer is the formal recognition that parts of a TAFE SA course are equivalent in content and level to parts of some University courses.
