Description

This course is for those who have completed the diploma of graphic design or have previous experience working in the design industry. You will enhance your technical, creative, and conceptual skills by working on complex design projects. Learn about packaging design, marketing, social media, advertising, wayfinding, advanced typography, design business and specialised creative fields. Work on real-world projects in conjunction with the design industry and collaborate with your peers to plan, promote, and run a public exhibition of your work.

Graduate ready to take on a position as a graphic designer, motion/multimedia designer, illustrator or as an advertising industry creative.

Course Admission Requirements

  • Diploma of Graphic Design or
  • Submission of a portfolio which provides evidence of your ability to apply visual communication history and theory to own professional practice, produce professional typography, produce graphic designs for two dimensional and three dimensional applications and create and manipulate graphics and design complex publication layouts
If there are more applications for this course than places available, applicants will be ranked by date of application to this course.

    Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design (CUA60320)
    This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have highly specialised technical, creative and conceptual skills in visual communication to conceive, negotiate and realise design solutions. You will gain a sound understanding of visual communication and design theory and history, and the ability to critically analyse and synthesise information from a range of sources. Advanced communication, organisation and project management skills are also covered. This course integrates both print and digital media applications of design. Topics covered include Design Studio, Advanced Typography, Design Business, Photo Imaging, Packaging Design, Advertising, Marketing and Portfolio Creation. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 6 core units and 9 elective units.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
