Become a Surveyor with the Diploma of Surveying. Enhance your practical surveying skills as you also learn to design basic engineering structures and carry out a range of surveying calculations. Learn how to conduct specialised spatial data collection, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) surveys, and geodetic surveying computations.     Employment Outcomes

    New graduates will work as technicians under limited supervision in the collection, processing and presentation of data in the areas of mining, engineering, construction, hydrography, aerial mapping, geographic information systems and land surveying.

    Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.

    Diploma of Surveying (CPP50121)
    This course provides specialist skills and knowledge in all aspects of surveying. A strong practical focus gives learners extensive skills in the use of a wide range of surveying and precision GPS equipment in a range of industry contexts. In the classroom, students gain valuable skills in leading surveying and engineering software applications and lectures provide the background to survey theory and mathematics. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 8 core units plus 8 electives.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
