Are you looking for a career that’s more outdoors than in the office? You can become a conservation worker, tree planter, weed control team member, or land-care officer with this entry-level qualification or go on to further study in conservation and ecosystem management. You’ll gain skills in recognising native flora and fauna, weeds, natural area restoration, seed collection and propagation, and the use of small machinery. Learn the basics of conservation and ecosystem management for indigenous land management, lands, parks and wildlife services and the restoration and rehabilitation of ecosystems. Blended

Blended – learn in a mixture of classroom and online environments. On campus learning will be scheduled but online learning can provide more flexibility. Lecturer support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.

Virtual Classroom – online classes are delivered by Collaborate. Collaborate is a web-based online classroom collaboration tool that acts as a real-time virtual classroom.

    Undertaking this course will develop skills and knowledge in recognising native flora and fauna including weeds, natural area restoration, seed collection and propagation and use of small machinery. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 2 core units and 13 elective units.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
