This qualification provides a pathway to work as a barber in the hairdressing or barbering industry, usually a barber shop or salon.
Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.
Certificate III in Barbering
You will learn men’s grooming, head and face shaving, beards and moustaches teamed with haircutting and finishing the client’s hair. A strong focus on fundamentals in knowledge and practical skills in all haircutting forms in solid, graduation, layers and combination haircutting for current and traditional styles. Specialisation in barbering skills such as clipper and scissor over comb, tapering skills, WHS and sustainability. 21 core units plus 5 electives.
Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full Qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
