    Employment Outcomes

    A Furniture Finisher or more commonly known as a Furniture Polisher can be employed in either a small workshop environment finishing or restoring varying types of furnishings or in a larger work group of a more industrious environment commonly affiliated with the kitchen and bathroom industry or larger commercial builders.

    Qualifications & Skills Covered

    Certificate II in Furniture Finishing (MSF20213)
    Skills covered include safety, communication, teamwork, power tools, surface coatings, measurements and calculations and handling dangerous goods/hazardous substances. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 8 core units and 5 elective units.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full Qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.


    The TAFE SA qualification is subsidised through the Government of South Australia's WorkReady initiative. To access subsidised training through WorkReady, your suitability to complete the qualification will be assessed. This may include participation in a Language, Literacy and Numeracy pre-assessment.
