This course has been designed to provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to prepare timber surfaces, apply stains and colour as well as operate spray equipment, and relevant hand and power tools.   • Employment Outcomes

    A Furniture Finisher or more commonly known as a Furniture Polisher can be employed in either a small workshop environment finishing or restoring varying types of furnishings or in a larger work group of a more industrious environment commonly affiliated with the kitchen and bathroom industry or larger commercial builders.

    Certificate II in Furniture Finishing (MSF20213)
    This qualification covers safety, communication, teamwork, power tools, surface coatings, measurements and calculations and handling dangerous goods/hazardous substances. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 8 core units and 5 elective units.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
