Description

This course is delivered across the state with applications processed at Mount Gambier Campus. The course has a blended learning approach incorporating online learning with the support of a weekly 1.5 hour Skype session offered day and evening, some on campus workshops offered at various locations and a Vocational Placement. Attendance at all of these components is essential to enable successful completion of the qualification. This course mode requires you to have access to a computer connected to the internet. This course is aimed at existing workers, as well as those wishing to gain employment in the education industry. It is required for educators working in a range of education settings, including public and independent schools and community education settings, who provide assistance and support to teachers and students under broad-based supervision. It meets the national competencies required for people wanting to work in kindergarten and school settings.

    This qualification covers working with diverse people, legislative, policy and industrial requirements, education programs, contribute to student education, organisation and management of classrooms, supporting development and student safety. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 12 core units and 5 elective units.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full Qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
