TAESS00019 - Assessor Skill Set

Description

It is recommended that either one (or both) the TAESS00028 Work skill Instructor Skill Set and or TAESS00029 Volunteer Trainer Delivery Skill Set be completed prior to registration into this Skill Set.
This skill set is targeted towards participants who wish to use these units as part of an upgrade to the TAE40112 (Certificate IV Training and Assessment) and who hold a Certificate III or higher and have current competence in a vocational industry area.

This skill set provides the necessary skills and knowledge for people to conduct assessment and operate without supervision in the vocational education and training (VET) sector, in accordance with the Standards for RTOs. This skill set is for individuals wishing to obtain the assessment competencies to assess according to VET system requirements.

  • This course is not suitable for school students/leavers.

    What to expect:

    Online classes once a week delivered via Blackboard Collaborate and access to learning resources on LEARN.

    You can expect to spend approximately 10 - 12 hours per week on study and assessments.

    Written and practical assessments are to be completed within allocated timelines. A student and assessment outline will be provided to assist and guide you through the three (3) units of competency.

    Practical assessments will require access to "others" to complete.
    These assessments can be completed in your workplace (videoed for assessor)

Short Course Delivery Locations Some short courses can provide accreditation for industry-specific registration, while others merely provide skills and knowledge in the subject area. Concession prices are available for some courses.

Class Times
This course comprises of both virtual classroom sessions and online work over 14 weeks.

Sessions will be every Monday 3:00pm-6:00pm.
Online sessions will be recorded for students to watch if they are not able to attend.

MANDATORY ONLINE SESSIONS ON:
Mon 25th August 25 – Orientation to course (3:00pm-5:00pm)
Mon 20th October 25 – Assessment for Pre Validation (3:00pm – 6:00pm)
Mon 24th November – Assessment for Post Validation (3:00pm – 5:00pm)
