Solar Accreditation Training - Grid with Battery Design

If you are looking to add grid connect with storage design to your existing Clean Energy Council (CEC) grid connect design accreditation, this course will provide you with the necessary skills and required photovoltaic (PV) system knowledge units of competency to design storage systems, charge controllers, and understand batteries and battery-based inverters and standards and regulations.

Learn how to select and match components, design grids with battery storage systems to Australian Standards and industry standards, and detail the expected savings or costs of installing the system.

Prior to undertaking training, you must ensure that you have met the pre-requisites as outlined by the Clean Energy Council (CEC). A list of the requirements is available at

You may be able to obtain these units of competency through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer (CT). Holders of an electrical license or Electrical/Electronics Degree are given credit for these units

Note: Subsidised training may be available through sources such as the CITB or the Industry Skills Fund.

  • Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace (UEENEEE101A)
Solve problems in d.c. circuits (UEENEEE104A)
Use drawings, diagrams, schedules, standards, codes and specifications (UEENEEE107A)
Note: Holders of an Electrical or Electronics Degree are not required to have completed the three units above.
Solve basic problems in photovoltaic energy apparatus and systems (UEENEEK125A)
Design grid connected photovoltaic power supply systems (UEENEEK135A)
  • Design battery storage systems for grid connected photovoltaic systems (UEERE5001)
