This course is for holders of an unrestricted electrical licence who wish to become accredited in order to install grid-connected solar/photovoltaic (PV) systems that have been designed by an accredited person. The course will cover the solar resource, PV technology, inverters, standards and regulations, and installation and commissioning. On successful completion of the course you will be able to install and commission a grid-connected PV system to Australian Standards and Clean Energy Council (CEC) guidelines.
Prior to undertaking training, you must ensure that you have met the pre-requisites as outlined by the Clean Energy Council (CEC). A list of the requirements is available at www.solaraccreditation.com.au/installers/becoming-accredited.html
You may be able to obtain these units of competency through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer (CT). Holders of an electrical license or Electrical/Electronics Degree are given credit for these units.
Note: Subsidised training may be available through sources such as the CITB or the Industry Skills Fund.
