Develop Keyboard Speed and Accuracy

Description

Participants in this course will learn the skills and knowledge required to develop keyboard skills with speed and accuracy using touch-typing techniques. Learners will use an online typing tutor and be taken through the basics of typing, such as home row keys, to more advanced facets such as problem keys, speed drills, and techniques to reduce strain that causes Carpal Tunnel syndrome.

Participants will be required to attend a TAFE SA campus to undertake a speed and accuracy skills test to successfully complete this unit.

It applies to individuals operating in a range of environments who are required to enter text and data with speed and accuracy. Individuals may provide administrative support within an organisation, or may be technical/knowledge experts responsible for production of their own word processed documents.

  • Students must have basic literacy and numeracy skills and must be familiar with using a personal computer

Short Course Delivery Locations Some short courses can provide accreditation for industry-specific registration, while others merely provide skills and knowledge in the subject area. Concession prices are available for some courses.
