TAESS00028 Work Skill Instructor Skill Set and TAESS00029 Volunteer Trainer Delivery Skill Set

Description

Participants will be trained and assessed in the following nationally recognised units of competency:

• TAEPDD401 Work effectively in the VET section
• TAEDEL311 Provide work skill instruction
• BSBCMM411 Make presentations

These units provide credit towards TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and other qualifications that allow for selection of these units.

These skill sets are designed to equip individuals with the essential skills and knowledge required to deliver training in:

• Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) under supervision
• Volunteer-based organisations
• Workplace settings

Participants will gain foundational competencies in instructional techniques, presentation skills, and understanding the regulatory framework of the VET sector.

Who's it for?

This training is ideal for:

• Volunteer trainers delivering instruction to other volunteers, such as within emergency services or community organisations
• Individuals involved in non-accredited training delivery
• New trainers beginning their careers in the VET sector
• Workplace instructors providing face-to-face, training in industry settings

Roles may include coaching individuals or small groups, facilitating skill development, and supporting learners in practical environments.

What you need to know

Those undertaking these skill sets must be able to demonstrate vocational competence in their proposed training and assessing area. Vocational competence is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience.

Outcomes of course

Upon successful completion, participants will be able to:

• Deliver work-skill instruction effectively in a supervised VET environment
• Facilitate training sessions aligned with nationally recognised standards
• Understand and apply the principles and regulations governing the VET sector

    This course is fee free via a joint initiative of the Australian and South Australian Governments and you must meet criteria to be eligible for a fee free place.
  • Make presentations (BSBCMM411)

    Provide work skill instruction (TAEDEL311)

    Work effectively in the VET sector (TAEPDD401)

  • During this course participants will plan, prepare session plans and deliver three (3) work skills instruction sessions (either face to face or online) of 30 minutes duration each to a group of at least 2 learners, with one (1) session of 30 minutes duration to an individual learner. As an online learner you will be required to record your three (3) training sessions and upload them as part of your assessment evidence.

    Course participants will also develop a professional development plan which will identify and apply the regulatory requirements of a vocational education and training (VET) teacher, trainer and assessor, evaluate their VET and industry current skills and knowledge and identify opportunities for professional development.
  • These skill sets are for individuals who work under supervision to deliver training to others in the VET sector via a face-to-face or online delivery model.

Short Course Delivery Locations Some short courses can provide accreditation for industry-specific registration, while others merely provide skills and knowledge in the subject area. Concession prices are available for some courses.

Virtual Classroom sessions will be held on Wednesday 7:00pm-8:30pm on the following dates:

Each session will be recorded if you are unable to attend. Online work will also be undertaken.

Registrations for this course close on 10 October 2025 unless filled prior.
