TAESS00021 - Facilitation Skill Set

Description

This skill set provides the necessary skills and knowledge for people facilitating training under supervision in the vocational education and training (VET) sector, who deliver via a face-to-face and in-person delivery model.

To complete this Skill Set, you will have successfully completed:
- TAESS00028 Work Skill Instructor Skill Set (or units TAEPDD401 Work effectively in the VET Sector and TAEDEL311 Provide work skill instruction)
- TAESS00029 Volunteer Trainer Delivery Skill Set (or units BSBCMM411 Make presentations and TAEDEL311 Provide work skill instruction)
- TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set (or units TAEASS412 Assess competence, TAEASS413 Participate in assessment validation and TAEDES411 Use nationally recognised training products to meet vocational training needs)

This skill set is targeted at participants who wish to use these units as part of an upgrade to the TAE40112 (Certificate IV Training and Assessment), or who are currently studying the TAE40112 (Certificate IV Training and Assessment), and who hold a Certificate III or higher and have current competency in a vocational industry area.

This course is a combination of virtual classroom sessions and online learning. You can expect to spend approximately 10-12 hours per week on study and assessments. Written and practical assessments are to be completed within allocated timelines. A unit assessment outline will be provided to assist and guide you through the two (2) units of competency. Practical assessments will require access to "others" to complete. These assessments can be completed in your workplace (videoed for assessor).

Design and Develop plans for vocational training (TAEDES412)

  • During this course participants will design, develop and document plans for group learning. The student will then plan, prepare for, and facilitate the vocational training of both individual learners and groups of learners via a face-to-face, in-person delivery mode. It includes customising and using existing session plans and learning resources, using these plans to facilitate training, and reviewing own practice.

The facilitation will be face-to-face, in-person, training sessions based on a training product that is nationally recognised or aligned with other recognised frameworks:

    - A series of three (3) sequential group training sessions of thirty (30) minutes duration each to one (1) group of learners, where the group must consist of at least four(4) learners
    - Two (2) different individual training sessions of thirty (3) minutes duration each to a learner who is not part of the above group

As an online learner you will be required to source your own learners, record your training sessions and upload them as part of your assessment evidence.
  • Virtual Classroom sessions will be held every Monday 6:30pm-8:30pm (sessions will be recorded for students to watch if not able to attend)
