Description
It is recommended that staff in the Health sector including Aged Care, Home Care and Disability sectors update their manual handling training at least annually to maintain industry compliance.
Whether you are a Support Worker in a community or residential setting, refreshing your knowledge and skills maintains currency and ensures safe practice for those you care for and yourself.
Topics covered in the workshop include a refresher in:
- Hazard identification and management of manual tasks.
- Principles of safe manual handling and infection control.
- Application of safe manual handling including use of slide sheets, use of a full sling lifter and procedures for the movement of people.
Participants must be currently working within industry and have held a Manual Tasks or Manual Tasks Refresher in the last 12 months.
Evidence of most recent Manual Tasks or Manual Tasks Refresher is required as part of the registration process.
Participants who have not completed the Manual Tasks or Manual Tasks Refresher within the last 12 months will need to undertake the full Manual Tasks course to meet industry standards.
On successful completion of the course, you will be issued with a Statement of Attendance.
