This course has been developed for individuals with a Certificate III or Trade qualification in Plumbing who are seeking to gain their Restricted Electrical Licence (Disconnect/Reconnect). During this course you will gain the required skills and knowledge to assist you in obtaining a National Restricted Electrical Licence (NREL) for disconnecting and reconnecting single and polyphase hot water systems. You will learn how to identify supply arrangements, follow isolation procedures, select and use testing and measuring devices, terminate and connect cables and commission equipment. All students must complete the core unit: Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace (UEENEEE101A), a unit included in the course structure. This course requires the completion of approximately 16 hours online pre-course study to prepare you for the face-to-face course work. On-campus coursework includes learning and assessment in a simulated environment, designed to provide learners with real-life scenarios aimed at preparing students for the scope of work that this licence allows. If you are seeking information regarding your eligibility to obtain a NREL you will need to contact Consumer Business Services 131882 (ext. 3) prior to enrolling into the course as TAFE SA does not issue or maintain licencing related to this qualification. Upon completion, students are eligible to apply for an Unsupervised/Restricted Electrical Workers Registration. Further information can be found at cbs.sa.gov.au/assets/LAR/occupational/NREL_Qualifications.pdf For organisations that wish to pay the student fees for this course and are unable to pay by credit card via the website, please contact the Student Engagement & Onboarding team via email on SEOShortCourses@tafesa.edu.au to organise a Third Party Payment invoice.
