Course Admission Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Photography
  • or
  • Submission of a portfolio which showcases your technical skills and ability to produce a body of photo imaging work that demonstrates your ability to respond effectively to different photo imaging challenges and requirements and that demonstrates your conceptual, technical and organisational skills to use a range of professional digital and/or film cameras and accessories

  • Students doing this program will be expected to purchase a DSLR Camera body (preferably Canon or Nikon), Short zoom lens for either full frame sensor cameras (Canon 24-70mm f2.8 USM lens or Nikkor AF-S 24-70mm f2.8 ED lens) or reduced frame sensor cameras (Canon 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM lens or Nikon AF17-55mm f2.8 ED-IF AF_S), a Tripod (such as Manfrotto 190 XB) and a Camera Flash (such as Canon)
  • Students wishing to access WorkReady funding or VET Student Loans will be required to demonstrate satisfactory reading, writing and numeracy skills as part of course counselling before enrolling.

Qualifications & Skills Covered

Diploma of Photography and Photo Imaging (CUA50915)
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have professional level specialised, technical and theoretical skills to plan, carry out and evaluate photo imaging services. Practice at this level is underpinned by application of design theory and the ability to critically analyse and synthesise information from a range of sources. 3 core units plus 14 electives.

Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full Qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
