    • You will receive an offer to both TAFE SA and University, with the University offer being conditional on successful completion of the TAFE SA qualification.
    • You can rest assured you have secured your University offer, pending successful completion of the TAFE SA award.
    • No further application will be required.
    • You will receive credit for TAFE SA studies allowing you to complete two awards dependant on the pathway selected.
    • If accepted, you will receive an offer to TAFE SA and-on successful completion of the TAFE SA qualification-an offer to University with no further application required.

    Employment Outcomes

    This qualification provides a pathway to work in many travel and tourism industry sectors as a departmental or small business manager. The diversity of employers includes travel agencies, tour wholesalers, tour operators, inbound tour operators, tourist attractions, visitor information centres, and other tourism businesses. Possible job titles include inbound groups manager, inbound sales manager, incentives manager, tour operations manager, marketing manager, product development manager, reservations manager, travel agency manager, sales manager, visitor information centre manager.

    Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.

    Qualifications & Skills Covered

    Certificate III in Travel (SIT30216)
    This course provides the skills and knowledge to work effectively in the travel industry and incorporates administrative skills, operational knowledge of booking systems including airline reservations and fares and ticketing, and customer service and sales skills. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 14 core units and 3 elective units.

    Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management (SIT50116)
    This course provides skills in managing diversity, customer service, managing conflict, finances and budgeting, leadership, business relationships and workplace safety. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 12 core units and 11 elective units.

    Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full Qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.

    Fees

    The TAFE SA qualification is subsidised through the Government of South Australia's WorkReady initiative. To access subsidised training through WorkReady, your suitability to complete the qualification will be assessed. This may include participation in a Language, Literacy and Numeracy pre-assessment.
