Description

This course is fee free for eligible students and prepares students for entry into the Diploma of Nursing by developing essential skills in writing, literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy—all tailored to a nursing context. Learners also complete health-specific units in medical terminology, first aid, WHS, cultural diversity, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural safety, many of which offer credit transfer into the Diploma.
Through practical, supportive learning, students gain confidence in core academic and health related knowledge, ensuring readiness for the Diploma of Nursing entry requirements and a successful start to a career in healthcare.

You'll study six Diploma of Nursing units as part of the pathway. If you successfully complete all six, you may be eligible to apply for credit transfer when you commence the Diploma of Nursing. Credit transfer is subject to the units remaining current and equivalent at the time you enrol.

    Learners develop a strong foundation of knowledge and practical abilities in:
    • Medical Terminology: Master key words, abbreviations, and phrases used in healthcare to understand and communicate medical information accurately.
    • Provide First Aid: Gain practical skills to respond to injuries and emergencies until professional help arrives.
    • Work Health and Safety: Apply safe work practices by identifying hazards and following workplace safety procedures.
    • Cultural Diversity: Respect and work effectively with people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.

    To complete the qualification, you are required to complete 1 core unit and all 13 elective units.
