QUALIFICATION

Diploma of Local Government (Planning) [LGA50120]

TAFE SA Code: CP00312

Description

This course is specifically designed for candidates in New South Wales who are employed in a relevant area in government, or any employment related to para planning, who are looking to gain skills in para planning to support Town Planning.
The course will be facilitated through blended online Blackboard Collaborate sessions supported by online resources. Subject matter experts will be providing current industry knowledge and skills through the delivery of the Planning specific units.
The Australian National Skills Commission has identified planning in its list of professions that has a skills shortage with a strong future demand, and the Australian Local Government Association has identified planners as one of the Top 3 skills shortages in local governments across the country.
As one of a range of initiatives to combat the planning skills shortage, the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) has been working closely with TAFE NSW, TAFE SA, Local Government NSW (LGNSW) and the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) to arrange delivery of this course to NSW cohorts by TAFE SA.
