Class 608, 609 and 610 went on an exciting excursion all the way from Salisbury Campus to Adelaide in Term 2, to visit Parliament House.

For some students, it was the first time they had caught a train. On arrival they had their photos printed onto nametags. A personal guide showed them around and told them the history of old and new Parliament house, with many opportunities to take photos and ask questions about law, the government and the architecture of the buildings. The students enjoyed sitting in the ‘red room’ and the ‘green room’ and learning about the how the House of Assembly is based on the UK House of Commons.

At the end of the tour the students enjoyed a picnic on the banks of the Torrens River together in the sunshine. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn in a different way!
