Pancakes for Shrove Tuesday

Apr 21, 2022

Pancakes-shrove-tuesday

In one of our AMEP classes, our teacher Nicky told us about a day called Shrove Tuesday. In the beginning, we didn't understand because this day is called something else in different countries. Then Nicky mentioned that on this day, people make pancakes, and everything fell into place – it's Pancake Day! Shrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday, and Ash Wednesday is the day that starts the six weeks of Lent. Lent is a critical time for some Christians before Easter.

So, on Shrove Tuesday, 1st March 2022, our class 201 and Teacher Felicia's class 103 gathered in the kitchen at TAFE at Adelaide Campus. We made pancakes and got into the spirit of the day. It was great! We communicated with people from different countries who told us how they spend this day in their country. We enjoyed sharing. Thank you to Nicky and Felicia!

PS The pancakes with fruit salad and ice cream were delicious!
