Advanced Animal Care 2

Description

TAFE SA's short courses for school students are designed for students in Year 11 to Year 12. They provide the opportunity to learn specific industry skills, all while students undertake their South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).

TAFE SA's advanced skill sets are primarily designed for school students in Year 12. They provide the opportunity to learn specific industry skills, all while students undertake their South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).

This course assists students in developing the skills and knowledge required to provide enrichment for animals, undertake infection control procedures and promote positive wellbeing in animal care workplaces. Students will work with multiple animal species.

  • TAFE SA's advanced skill sets are primarily designed for school students in Year 12.

    Certificate II in Animal Care is a preferred pre-requisite for this course.
  • Comply with infection control policies and procedures in animal care work (ACMINF301)

    Promote positive wellbeing in self and others in animal care workplaces (ACMGEN304)

    Provide enrichment for animals (ACMBEH302)

  • This stackable skill cluster is best suited to students who have previously studied the Cert II Animal Studies or Cert II Animal Care. Animal handling and husbandry routines are included in this skill cluster; therefore, TAFE SA must be informed of animal phobias and/or allergies prior to the commencement of the course.

    Attracts 20 Stage 2 SACE Credits.
