This course is for those interested in working, or already work, as a legal support officer in a law firm, commercial entity, community organisation or the public sector. It covers the Australian legal system, court process, legal research, the law and professional rules that apply to support staff, legal computing, communication, contract law and torts.

Not all units listed below must necessarily be completed to achieve your qualification.
Graduates will be equipped to gain employment as a legal assistant, legal secretary, legal support officer or assistant paralegal.

Certificate IV in Legal Services
The course covers the Australian legal system and court process, legal research, the law and professional rules that apply to legal support staff, legal computing, legal communication, contract law and torts. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 8 core units and 4 elective units.
Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full Qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
