Description

This course is designed to assist intermediate level migrants (International Second Language Proficiency Rating (ISLPR) entry level 1+ to 2 in speaking, listening, reading and writing) for whom English is an additional language. It can help participants to communicate orally and in writing at an intermediate level of English.

Online

Online – learn at your own pace, in your own space. Lecturer support will be provided via email and interaction with fellow students may be available via forums and chat groups. Online courses require access to a computer with an internet connection.

Blended

Blended – learn in a mixture of classroom and online environments. On campus learning will be scheduled but online learning can provide more flexibility. Lecturer support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.

Virtual Classroom

Virtual Classroom – online classes are delivered by Collaborate. Collaborate is a web-based online classroom collaboration tool that acts as a real-time virtual classroom.

Workplace

Workplace – if you are currently employed in the industry but do not have a formal qualification TAFE SA can recognise the skills you already have. The duration of the course will be determined by your individual study plan.

  • To be eligible for this fee free course you must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, bridging visa or skilled migrant visa holder. You must provide evidence of visa letter at time of enrolment

Entry Recommendations
This course is for students learning English as another language. You will need an intermediate level of English for this course.

Attendance Requirements (subject to change)
Classes for full time students are four hours a day, four days a week. Classes for part-time students are three hours a day, two days a week. There is an optional extra class day once a week that you can choose to attend.

Mandatory Requirements
This course is free for eligible students. To be eligible you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or hold a skilled migrant or bridging visa. You will need to show evidence of your visa when you enrol.
