Courses for school students

TAFE SA has accredited courses especially for high school students.

These courses are part of the South Australian Government’s ‘Stackable VET’ program and provide students with highly valued vocational skills, prepare them for the workplace and allow them to try out different areas before committing to a qualification. ‘Stackable VET’ courses may also earn credit towards a student’s SACE.

Stackable VET programs are available for Year 10, Year 11 and Year 12 students and are generally delivered one day per week per week unless specified otherwise.

Information Technology accredited courses for school students

TAFE SA's Information Technology Studies program delivers vocational education and training (VET) for Schools as part of our nationally recognised training package. It's available to students from years 10 to 12 as part of their normal school curriculum.

The Information Technology VET for Schools program helps students:

  • develop practical, industry-specific skills
  • develop an understanding of the world of work
  • gain a nationally recognised qualification.

VET study also counts towards the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and is the perfect pathway into further Information Technology study at TAFE SA, or it can prepare students for employment or gaining an apprenticeship or traineeship.

Not ready for a full qualification? We also offer short courses which provide you with a taste of the information technology industry. They give a good understanding of the scope and career options the industry can offer you.

From these courses, students can continue their studies onto further certificate courses.

They give students the opportunity to learn specific industry skills and gain credit towards a nationally recognised qualification such as a certificate, diploma or advanced diploma, all while undertaking their South Australian Certificate of Education [SACE].
